Amie always speaks her truth. She is one of the most authentic people I know and that is reflected in innovative and authentic designs.

Amie MacPhee: Founder/Owner

Amie MacPhee leads the strategic and creative teams at Cultivate. Inspired by the California oak woodland landscape of her childhood, Amie has made a career designing, advocating for, and creating environments where people and nature can thrive. For Amie, landscape architecture is the melding of art, design, nature and stewardship to lay the groundwork for lasting vibrant and healthy environments. She thinks of herself, foremost, as a steward of the natural world, and approaches all design efforts as an integrated system of the region’s legacy, culture and nature.

More about Amie...

Amie’s strength is in helping clients and communities create a shared vision that catalyzes innovative designs and judicious implementation approaches. She cares deeply about changing the “business as usual” approaches to designing environments and is passionate about crafting solutions that cultivate places of lasting value. This includes leading creative teams, communities, and stakeholders through the process of thinking through a fully thought-out vision to realize shared project and community goals.

Amie’s training in Landscape and Environmental Design at UC Berkeley enriches her background in conservation, community planning and landscape architecture. Coupled with her 30-year history as a Principal at Hart Howerton, an international planning and architecture firm, she brings a rich history and thoughtfulness to all design and planning endeavors. She founded Cultivate in 2011 to bring together her interests in reinventing the way we improve land to deliver resilient places around a successful economic model.
